I'm Back, Baby!

I actually wrote something last week, but I did it in a hotel room and just as I went to hit "publish" my internet connection ran out and I lost about two hours of work. Yeah, I was pretty upset, too.

(Although I was drinking when I wrote it, so it was probably a blessing in disguise.)

So there's been lots and lots happening in my life. Owning a house is an adventure, that's for sure, but it's really very satisfying. Living with a boy isn't as dramatically different than I assumed it would be. Really just more of the old 'treat your roommate with respect' stuff, with a little more emotional frailty and sensitivity thrown in.

Anyway, today's topic is the beautiful weather. Ever wonder why colours change in the trees? I know you probably already know, but here's a more detailed explanation for the geeks among you (and you know you're out there). I understand it has something to do with photosynthesis, chlorophyll, and carrots...

The Science of autumnal beauty. (Now I just need a fifth grader to explain the explanation to me.)

The science of describing that beauty. Please pay careful attention to the pronounciation of this word. Pronouncing it FOILage in my direct hearing may result in the slapping of your face by my hand. I'm sorry, I have no control over it, my hand works autonomously in these cases. This is the only way I can see to avoid this situation. Please pass this on to anyone who you feel may need it.
