Lyrical Wisdom

Lately my iPod has been feeding me great lines. I'll be riding on the streetcar, buying something from the store, making my weary way to or from work and a singer will whisper a lyric in my ear that will make me laugh, think, or even cry. (Shut up. I can be moved by a tender lyric if I want to, jackass.)

Let me share their wisdom with you as well. In this way I can hope to spread the enjoyment of these lyrics, provide a precious glimpse into my inner thoughts and feelings, but most importantly, keep me from having to actually write anything this week...

Apropos for unfortunates (such as me and the cute boyfriend) currently looking to buy a home in this city

I've seen the future.
I can't afford it.

- "How to be a Millionaire", ABC

Whoa. Pretty heavy for a Monday morning in line at the Tim Horton's, dude

Why can't love ever touch my heart like fear does?
- "Bluer Than Midnight", The The

Best. Pick-up line. Ever.

You seem cool for a naked chick in a booth.
- "Stranger", The Presidents of the United States of America

Yes, even the asshole who just jammed his umbrella into your back and stepped on your heel

See my eyes, don't see what I see
Touch my tongue, don't know what tastes good to me
It's the human condition that keeps us apart
Everybody's got a story that could break your heart

- "Everybody's Got a Story", Amanda Marshall

Hmm... tastes a little like tofutti

If this isn't love we're making,
then I don't know what it is.

- "All I Need", Jack Wagner

Peace out, fellow music lovers. I'm gone to Chicago the week of May 22nd, so I doubt I'll have time to update for that week. But if not, rest assured I'll be thinking of you...
